Food Delivery: The “Will They, Won’t They” Conundrum Now Answered, COVID-19 Style

Spa Esprit Group

Home to some of Singapore’s most well loved F&B brands, from modern Argentinian chophouse boCHINche to Tiong Bahru’s favourite gluten-free backstreet bistro The Butcher’s Wife, the folks at Spa Esprit Group are keeping the doors of Open Farm Community, The Butcher’s Wife and Tiong Bahru Bakery faithfully open throughout the Circuit Breaker

The Butcher’s Wife – Gluten-free cuisine & a neighbourhood natural wine retail space

Head chef Mariana Campos continues doling out her brand of “I-can’t-believe-it’s-gluten-free” cuisine for pick up and delivery, along with a newly stocked up natural wine retail space curated by Drunken Farmer. Pick out a bottle (or ten) with your meal or have it delivered via Deliveroo.

The Tiong Bahru spirit lives on

Already available on GrabFood, Deliveroo and FoodPanda, Tiong Bahru Bakery—long time champion of the community spirit—advocates for Singaporeans to show just that with their latest Help A Neighbour initiative on Instagram which encourages customers who are taking-away to help friends and neighbours who might be inconvenienced in getting food with a simple Instagram story. Genius? We think so too.

Their Eng Hoon, Chip Bee, Safari and Raffles City outlets remain faithfully open – with Tiong Bahru Bakery Diner’s chef Paul Albert alternating between the outlets to serve up some piping hot sourdough waffles. Delicious salad and grain bowls are also being introduced into the menus, in addition to their beloved French pastries.

And if you’re staying in as instructed, they’re offering islandwide delivery on GrabFood!

Open Farm Community – Any fresher you’ll have to farm it yourself

Back at the forested fields of Dempsey, here’s how Open Farm Community’s chefs Oliver Truesdale-Jutras and Phoebe Oviedo are keeping you fed throughout the circuit breaker. While pivoting to takeaway, the promise remains – ethically sourced proteins matched with locally farmed vegetables; all from scratch – with fresh specials daily. Think sets for all sizes, donut and ice-cream parties, fresh DIY pasta kits with herbs from their backyard, and you know it – natural wines.

Newly launched is also OFC Provisions, a pop-up provision space at two of Tiong Bahru Bakery’s outlets, TBB Safari and TBB Eng Hoon.

The OFC team have transformed both outlets into a space offering provisions for the people, where shoppers can find fresh, local produce in support of the local farming scene, along with a range of natural wines, fresh pastas as well as an exciting assortment of goods sourced directly from their garden.
