You are about to enter a world of Danish conviviality at Leckerbaer Keong Saik. Keep calm and hygge on
Here's all you need to know about Leckerbaer Keong Saik
01.
Cultivating the hygge movement
It has been slightly over a year since Leckerbaer, a Copenhagen-based pastry shop made its first overseas debut in Singapore. Despite initial worries of launching amidst a pandemic right after last year’s Circuit Breaker, it’s proposition of living in Danish conviviality through tiny worlds of pleasant discoveries took off – especially for those in search of treats to uplift spirits of loved ones and friends.
02.
Search for a fitting home
While its Isetan Scotts branch remain the choice-spot for a quick pick-up of gifts or break from shopping, its regional partners at Caerus Holding have constantly been on the lookout for a space that captures the essence of Leckerbaer’s original store at Ryesgade Street. Upon availability of a shophouse unit at Keong Saik, the team immediately put plans into motion, eventually fashioning the space into its official Singapore flagship.
03.
A reflection of its original pastry shop
From outside, you can immediately get a sense of the cosiness within through its wooden-framed glass door and storefront window.
Inside, elements of wooden panels, light wood furniture, rattan walls and champagne coloured mirrors form a muted and inviting scheme that oozes Scandinavian charm. Sectioned into two pockets, the entrance holds a pastry counter where scores of bakes are displayed for picks, before making your way to the lounge area further back where daylight permeates through a perforated rattan ceiling, conducive for a cosy get-together away from the bustle.
